Gloves for the world We are UNIGLOVES® UNIGLOVES® produces 600 million gloves annually in Malaysia. Over 700 employees on our production lines contribute to our growth and Success. They are the life and soul of our company. We feel responsible for professional development and training, and encourage each colleague to realise his or her potential. On average, our employees earn twice the statutory minimum wage and have been loyal to UNIGLOVES® for more than ten years. Our Production Manager has been in charge for 25 years. He ensures compliance with our high occupational safety and sustainability standards and plays a key role in the ongoing development of our production processes. QUALITY FROM OUR OWN PRODUCTION The first glove that fell off the production line in 1989 marked the beginning of a success story: 30 years on, UNIGLOVES® is one of the leading companies for dispos- able products for services, industry, the manufacturing industry and wherever hygiene is a priority. Our strength lies especially in the high-quality pre- mium products and private labels that our customers can have produced by us in line with their product and market requirements. 4

As the Head of UNIGLOVES®, Sebastian Schuster sees his work as a calling. He passes on the freedom to develop and play out ideas to his employees. Have you envisioned your career from the start? I always wanted to do something for people, get them inspired and enthralled by certain topics. The “rubber glove industry” was not in my mind until I got the opportunity to take the helm of UNIGLOVES® during the change in ownership five years ago, and I readily moved from the Harz to Rhineland. What do you particularly like about your company? The fact that we are not producing luxury items but an everyday object that people use daily. Our products do not need any explanation. But being plain and simple they are a necessity. I appreciate the simplicity of our corporate structure. As I come from a large corporation, I enjoy the short decision-making paths and the direct impact. I am excited to visit the customer and to look into amazed faces time and again, when I portray the production methods and transport routes, and explain how much work is put into our products. Something that is routinely pulled out of a box every day and has to simply work – who would think about how the humble glove is actually made? What long-term goals do you have for UNIGLOVES®? What is more important than turnover and profit is the continuity of our quality and the satisfaction of our employees, who know what they are working for. When our first employee comes to work in the morning and no longer knows the purpose of his or her work and for whom it is intended then I haven’t done my job properly. How and where do you best switch off? I run a lot, including half-marathon. I just feel good when I am out and about. How important are social networks for you? I prefer the spoken word. I am known for preferring to call customers rather than answering an email. Do you have role models? There are many people who impress or influence me. I am open to others’ ideas and see what is happen- ing around me to get the best. I myself also do not want to be so much of a role model but as powerful enough to make a difference. What is your life’s wisdom? Life gives you what you need. Always and at any time. You do not always understand it the same way, but everything has a meaning. No tool, machine or robot in the world can match the precision of the human hand. That is why we consider it important that you can use also your hands with disposable gloves as if you were not wearing them. Over the past 30 years, we have developed methods to make our gloves with a particularly smooth finish or a good grip. We have also optimised the wearing com- fort for gloves that are worn for hours. The protein content and the allergy risk are considerably reduced by double-sided chlorination with subsequent washing. In addition, this elaborate refinement gives you a realistic sense of touch for perfect instrument handling. How does the latex get into the glove? Our PREMIUM PRODUCTS The latex glove is a natural product, made from a renewable raw material. In Thailand, natural rubber that exudes from the tree bark is har- vested on plantations. The latex milk obtained from it has a shelf life of only 28 days in this grade of quality, which is why it is produced in Malaysia. Here, ceramic moulds are dipped into the material and processed. For quality control purposes, the gloves are counted, placed on top of each other and randomly tested for air and water perme- ability. The counting and packaging process is also ! COMFORT ! The colour does not matter as long as it is black. BLACK LINE Introducing the SELECT BLACK, UNIGLOVES® launched the first black gloves on the market in 2005. Since then, the BLACK LINE has been experiencing a success story, which it owes mainly to the tattoo trend. While initially tattoo artists preferred a black glove for aesthetic reasons, the glove is now a hygienic standard and a product, which we are con- stantly developing further, for example by extending it to the wrist to avoid contact with the skin during tattooing. All-round protection from head to toe UNIPROTECT® Food safety requires reliable protective clothing that complies with all standards and guidelines throughout the production process. It prevents the transmission of germs during food production and further process- ing. Materials such as plastic or rubber that come into contact with food are subject to strict legal require- ments. Sustainability: Human protection meets environmental conservation A Neat Affair UNIGLOVES® attaches great importance to environ- mental protection. We are committed to working in a manner that reduces any negative impacts on the en- vironment and to actively preventing pollution: As one of the first manufacturers in the industry, UNIGLOVES® has certified a waste water clarification system for the production line in Asia. That is how we make sure that the degree of contamination of the water discharged from our production is far below the required standard values. In addition, we carry out regular internal and external audits to ensure above-average clarification of the recycled water. The exhaust air from the production process is filtered and cleaned in our own plant. All solid wastes, which are produced in our production facilities, are disposed of in certified landfills as per the guidelines. In addition, we operate a prescribed waste separation system in order to ensure the return is in accordance with the recycling cycle. Where possible, our waste products are either recycled internally or passed on to recycling sites. Rubber residues produced in our production are reused in other branches of industry and thus, contribute to the complete use of the raw material. 26 Respect for human rights in our companies, the safety and health of our employees and active environmental management are natural for us. Mission People: We like to give! Charity We strive to act in a socially responsible way and to improve the well-being of the community. Regularly we donate our gloves to non-profit organisations such as Dentists without Borders and support children’s hospitals in Romania and Bulgaria and humanitarian missions during disease outbreaks and natural catastrophes. During sample campaigns, we cooperate closely with the non-profit Rhein-Sieg Lebenshilfe Workshops. The organisation’s workshops enable people with disabilities to perform productive activities. At the same time, the workshops are places to get together and socialize.
